Gestión de Identidad Vs YO DIGITAL
¿Cómo gestionas tú tus identidades digitales? ¿Y tus personalidades digitales? ¿Y tu memoria digital? ¿Eres consciente de que somos seres digitales? ¿Tienes un Yo digital?
¿Cómo gestionas tú tus identidades digitales?
La gran mayoría de nosotros sólo nos hemos planteado la primera pregunta por obviedad, por la necesidad de gestionar la creciente y nunca terminable parejas de usuarios y claves para acceder a cualquier web. En el mejor de los casos, parejas de usuarios claves, porque además están las tarjetas de claves de los bancos, los certificados digitales de hacienda, y demás métodos de control de acceso.
Mirándome a mi mismo me veo como al principio, cuando guardaba en una pequeña hoja, parejas de nombres y teléfonos, ordenados alfabéticamente. Así se han resuelto multitud de problemas. A veces gracias a “los de ciencias” obviamos esta solución tan sencilla, ya nadie teclea la dirección IP sino que escribe www.yodigital.es. Mi solución rupestre fue ampliamente superada por la tecnología en forma de agendas primero en papel luego electrónicas etc… Y por supuesto antes de las modernísimas PDAs apareció el móvil, que no sólo desvinculó al teléfono de un lugar y lo asoció a una persona sino que obvio incluso el número del móvil en todos los aspectos. Todos. Hay muchos que no saben ni su número móvil, pero además fue la primera vez que las compañías Telefónicas no publicaban los directorios de páginas amarillas con los números de los teléfonos móviles de sus clientes. Esto ahora es normal, pero entonces era curioso como poco. ¿El comienzo de la no identidad?
En definitiva toda la problemática anterior se centra en la gestión de la identidad, y si hablamos de accesos a sistemas informáticos, de la gestión de identidad digital, campo en el que me ha tocado trabajar unos años. Existían y existen soluciones globales tipo Microsoft Passport, (que fracasó), Liberty Alliance (que no despega nunca), soluciones más pre-a-porter, ping identity, (que no es segura), y aproximaciones más personales como Infocard. Todas ellas intentan resolver el problema de la identidad aunque lo que realmente da juego es la gestión de la no identidad. ¿Quién no experimentado vértigo en unos carnavales tras la mascara? ¿O en un viaje lejano donde nadie nos conoce por los que somos sino por lo que parecemos? Donde no tenemos que mantener la pesada carga de congruencia con nuestra vida cotidiana. A quién no le gustaría pagar alguna vez con su tarjeta prepago anónima del móvil sin que quedase rastro alguno del capricho en cuestión.
¿Y tus personalidades digitales?
Bien ya entramos en materia, una cosa es la identidad, y otra cosa los usos y costumbres que hacemos con ella. ¿Nuestra personalidad digital? Digamos que no tengo la misma personalidad o actúo de la misma manera en el despacho de mi jefe, que tomando copas con Maribel Verdú, caso este que aun no se ha dado. Análogamente no me comporto igual cuando soy jss@tid.es que cuando escribo a mis colegas como elgatofelino@gmail.com pero si navegas en la web, chateas, blogeas, generas una red y te interrelacionas con otros seres digitales con los cuales te gustaría mantener cierta coherencia. En el mundo carnal, la coherencia es intuitiva y ante mi jefe, mis vecinos y tomando copas la mantengo con mayor o menor acierto. Esto no es directamente trasladable al mundo digital. Curiosamente sabe más la red de nuestra personalidad/personalidades digitales que nosotros mismos, o al menos lo intenta. De ahí que cada vez que entremos a ebay intente sugerirnos algo por lo que ya hemos preguntado. Google intenta que personalicemos al máximo “nuestra” página inicial de google, he incluso que nos identifiquemos, la mejor forma de asociar nuestro comportamiento a esa identidad y conocer aspectos de nuestra personalidad.
¿Eres consciente de que somos seres digitales?
Creo que nunca seremos lo suficientemente conscientes de lo digitales que somos. Yo no dejo de sorprenderme de las repercusiones de lo que hacemos en la red. Verbigracia no me imaginé la audiencia que tendría este blog en iberoamérica, máxime sin hacer ningún tipo de campaña publicitaria. Este es un caso agradable. Pero cuantos sistemas digitales conocerán, mucho mejor que yo, el número y destino de páginas políticamente incorrectas a las que se han accedido desde esta identidad o dirección IP o incluso por mí mismo. Este es un caso no agradable. Algo que probablemente consideraba íntimo pero que evidentemente no lo es. Aceptando además que todos los webmaster están en su derecho de intentar conocer a su clientela, y espero que no crucen datos entre ellos. Que Maribel no sepa que tomo copas con Merche y al revés.
¿Y tu memoria digital?
Me imagino a veces a mi hijo preguntándome, ¿Papa, y es verdad que cuando eras joven pagabais por que os pintasen las fotos en papel? Y lo más triste, ¿Dónde están esas fotos de papel de tu vuelta a España en moto?
Evidentemente todo recuerdo de la memoria que queramos que nos perdure ha de estar digitalizado y en la red. Por dos motivos. Uno para poder gestionarlo, y otro quizá más importante, para no perderlo.
PD: Mis fotos del viaje en moto están con las de muchos de los lectores, perdidas.
¿Tienes un Yo digital?
Cómo no teníamos una herramienta software que contuviese a nuestro Yo digital, decidimos construirlo, ahora tenemos el modelo, el prototipo, el piloto, y mientras tanto nos apañamos con soluciones rupestres y escribimos en este blog.
Sin embargo, el juego de identidades tiene sus límites. ¿Qué te parecen los últimos datos sobre el juego Second Life el cual parece estar quedándose vacío?.
Yo veo más a Second Life como una nueva forma de interactuar en la red, una interfaz, que como una segunda vida. Esta forma de interactuar si me parece novedosa.
Ha tenido graves problemas de prestaciones y no ha alcanzado la masa crítica de usuarios en el tiempo necesario, una cosa ha hecho que no fuese placentera su utilización y otra que no hubiese nadie con quien actuar. Mientras que en Internet siempre hay alguien con quién interrelacionarte, y gratis.
En cuanto a como nueva interfaz de interacción en la red, en 3D, me parece imparable, ahora, me sentiría más confortable si se desarrollase por toda la comunidad que sólo por una compañía.
En cuanto a tu pregunta, no creo que el juego de identidades tenga sus limites por el hecho de que Second Life se este frenando. Es más, aun debe crecer muchísimo a medida que todos y en todos los países vayamos entrando en la sociedad de la información
Nuria y yo comentamos un día que le podía haber hecho daño la posibilidad de comprar y vender cosas, incluso de arruinarse. La ficción necesita mantenerse al margen (hasta cierto punto) de la dinámica de la vida real. No puede dejar de ser un juego.
Probablemente la barrera entre ficción y realidad es mucho más difusa de lo que parece. ¿Que es más real, don Quijote de la Mancha o mi vecino Juan Gutiérrez a quien no conoce nadie? Probablemente las relaciones del second life o entre cualquier ente digital sean mas reales aunque solo existan en la mente que muchos portaviones.
Probablemente hasta que inventemos una nueva dimensión digital tendremos que evolucionar replicando la realidad que conocemos.
