Tu vida en un grafo
¿Accederemos en el futuro a ggg.yodigital.es en lugar de a www.yodigital.es? En noviembre de 2007 Tim Berners-Lee, el padre de la World Wide Web, escribió un post en el que hablaba por primera vez del Giant Global Graph (en la entrada "Giant Global Graph, by timbl" del blog La cofa se resume en qué consiste). A partir de ese momento se han sucedido las noticias acerca del salto de la WWW a la GGG. Independientemente de si dicho salto se produce o no, lo cierto es que Internet está cambiando y las relaciones y las conexiones son cada vez más importantes. En mis anteriores entradas hablaba del éxito de las redes sociales. Por otro lado, comienzan a aparecer herramientas como TouchGraph de Google, Kartoo, Grokker o TheBrain, que presentan el resultado de una búsqueda en forma de grafo o mapa, siendo esta una forma distinta de presentar y navegar por la información.
La idea del grafo va más allá de una red social. El grafo representa todas las conexiones que una persona tiene, incluye las redes sociales a las que
pertenece la persona pero también lugares, vídeos, fotos, documentos, compañías u organismos, etc. El grafo de nuestra vida digital cada vez se va extendiendo más a medida que Internet se va haciendo más imprescindible en nuestras vidas y tendemos a guardar nuestros recuerdos (ya sean personales, laborales o académicos) en formato digital.
En mi Yo Digital yo tengo mi grafo y puedo, por ejemplo, bucear por él para localizar las fotos que me pasó un amigo de la ceremonia de graduación en la universidad. El Yo Digital me permite localizar lo que estoy buscando a partir de mi grafo social, pero ¿qué pasa si no recuerdo qué amigo fue el que me pasó las fotos de la graduación?, por supuesto tampoco recuerdo la fecha ni en dónde las guardé. Sin embargo, sí recuerdo que fue cuando acabé la carrera, que estaba contenta, con mis compañeros de la universidad y que cuando entramos al bar al que fuimos a celebrarlo curiosamente sonaba la canción de "We are the champions" de fondo. Mi memoria funciona así. El Yo Digital me permite asociar estos aspectos (además de otros) a aquellas fotografías, para que cuando quiera recuperarlas no tenga que recordar quién hizo las fotos, en qué fecha o lugar se hicieron, dónde las guardé, etc. Es decir, mi Yo Digital es la suma de mi grafo y mi memoria.

@chels I know what you mean, its hard to find good help these days. People now days just don’t have the work ethic they used to have. I mean consider whoever wrote this post, they must have been working hard to write that good and it took a good bit of their time I am sure. I work with people who couldn’t write like this if they tried, and getting them to try is hard enough as it is.
